Everyone is in agreement that 2020 has not been easy; a year marked with upheaval and uncertainty. The fashion industry is one of the most negatively affected industries. However, consumers are driving changes to the fashion industry, and have already fast-tracked some shifts that may have taken a lot longer otherwise. An ethical future for the fashion industry is here now with Ametlab.

Italy struggles to remain operative

The textile manufacture industry in Italy holds the benchmark for excellence. An industry in global operation for over 850 years; an industry which has unfortunately experienced a slow decline in recent years through misconceptions and general business trends for fast fashion.

Currently, the situation in Italy is more complex again. More than 40% of the global production of luxury goods takes place here. During the Spring quarantine all factories had to close, including small family businesses. And sadly, some of those have been unable to open their doors again.

The supply chain cracks

During the on/off quarantine directives, globally, a new test arose for the fashion industry. Within the fashion industry, some brands found themselves missing a whopping 80% of the raw materials to complete manufacture of their current collection. Brands with fragmented supply chains, in search of the cheapest wholesale prices to compete in the marketplace, created a standstill during the pandemic and in some cases, their collections became deadstock.

We believe in a more mature and gentle way of doing business; one which is based on inter-personal relationships and where the ethics of the production line is as important to the end product as the initial fashion idea itself. The rising star on X Factor 2020, Mydrama (real name Alessandra Martinelli), is the 22 year old singer taking the TV program by storm. Her songs from the X Factor live shows are receiving positive radio air time and streaming on Spotify. Her latest TV X Factor appearance took the public by storm with an explosive version and incredible stage presence singing ‘Vieni Con Me’, wearing Rossorame’s fluoro matching modern suit.

This is the second time that Rossorame has been chosen as the brand to dress Mydrama, rising as top choice against the largest luxury houses fighting to dress her for the X Factor show.

Rossorame Winter Collection ’20/21

Federica Pellegrini wears Rossorame

For the second season running, premium brand Rossorame is requested as the exclusive brand for Federica Pellegrini (Olympic champion swimmer and rising media star). Federica Pellegrini wears Rossorame on all her TV appearances in her role on the judging panel for Italys Got Talent. Sneak previews from Federica Pellegrini and Italys Got Talent social media creates an instant hype for Rossorame, emphasising Rossorame as a rising star in its own right, with a definite YES! from celebrities and public alike for their garments.

The Hands Off! Limited Edition shirt and the Alyssa skirt

Rossorame’s winter collection follows the story of a coming of age in the 70s/80s as innocence and maturity hangs in the balance. Youthful varsity styles and colours encounter a darker more grown-up punk glamour look inspired by films like The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Bright sporty styles are mixed alongside elegant and tailored limited edition hand-painted pieces.

Ametlab manufactures Rossorame

Rossorame’s winter collection on Italys Got Talent on Federica Pellegrini is a bold and effortless marriage of streetwear and glamour punk. Different elements in design and manufacture play together to create unique pieces in a united collection. T-shirt graphics take inspiration from old horror and B-movies for a cool Rock-Trend look. Many of the pieces show a nod to previous seasons with flashes of bright pop colors for the signature Rossorame piping. Meanwhile, the best-selling-most-loved bomber has a varied and skillful makeover featuring different versions of the bomber in quilted silk, lace and sequins, patchwork denim and even hand stencils.

Designer Bruno Simeone curates each piece both in the design and manufacture process. Some fabrics were painted and embellished whilst still on the roll before the Cut and Sew, whilst others were fully finished with the finishes and flourishes completed post assembly. Finally, the denims and the luxury fabrics (velvet, lurex, taffeta) were hand cut, placed and sewn to create the patchwork effect desired. To take a more in-depth look at our services click here.
